A Medal Test is a very rewarding experience for a dancer and also for the dance school as it provides structure and goals to the students’ dance education. A successful test serves to confirm a level of proficiency in dancing.
The exam represents only one day whereas the knowledge acquired to achieve that goal lasts forever. Students get to enjoy many of the same benefits of competing, but without the stress of competition and public display. Medal tests help students to learn faster and dance better.
Medal tests are a conduit for CDTA-accredited teachers to impart their knowledge and maintain standards for dance styles. Teachers have the opportunity to design a structured and progressive learning path for students who are preparing for the tests.
Member teachers and dance schools may schedule their own Medal Test session if they have the minimum required. CDTA has set dates so that teachers who do not have the required number of students may select those dates.
