Masterclasses 2013 Teacher Bios Lexy Cox – Bio Lexy Cox BFA-Ryerson University, CDTA, PAEC, AAC, AF, PAA, ADTA, YPAD Lexy is a diverse performer, choreographer and instructor specializing in a variety of dance styles. She is a graduate of Ryerson University’s BFA program, majoring in Theatre Performance and Dance. Her additional dance certifications include, Acrobatic Arts, Alixa Flexibility, the Performing Arts Educators of Canada, and the Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association. Lexy is also a qualified dance adjudicator with the Professional Adjudicators Alliance and a proud member of Youth Protection Advocates in Dance. As a choreographer Lexy has worked across Canada and the US on projects such as Mini PopKids, Mirvish’s Matilda (Travelling Stage Artist Educator), Mirvish Musical Theatre Summer Intensive, Shrek The Musical (Rainbow Stage), Dance Attack Conventions, One Night Only Musical (Dora Award Winner- Now Audience Choice), Port Hope Capitol Theatre Company, New York City’s Theatre Arts Centre, City Dance Corps, CNE Rising Star Talent Competition, Illuminite Toronto, Bravo Academy Toronto, Toronto Dance Teacher Expo, Calgary Dance Teacher Expo, Capilano University, World Performers Canada National Dance Team, and Google Learning Mini Series. Kyle Vicente

Kyle Vicente, began dancing at the age of 13 and has trained in many forms of dance such as: Hip-Hop, Popping, Jazz, Locking, Contemporary, House, Musical Theatre, dancehall and more. Work in film includes: Zapped, Rags, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Red Riding Hood, Kickin’ It Old School, Center Stage 2, Fantastic Four 2, Another Cinderella Story 2, Spectacular, Psych (American Duos), Kyle XY, Eureka & more. A few events he has performed at include: “Canadian Hip-Hop Championships”, “San Francisco Hip-Hop Dance Festival” along side with the America’s best dance crew “The Jabbawockeez”. Kyle is apart of OTI (Over The Influence) Crew as well as 1st place undefeated winners in Artists Emerge 2011-2014 & World of Dance 2011-2013, “The Faculty”. “The Faculty” took 3rd place & 2nd place at Body Rock in San Diego in 2013/2014 and were one of the first crews to represent Canada. Patricia Lusic

Patricia has been dancing almost since she could walk, starting with tap, then jazz, ballet, musical theatre and ballroom. In 2005, Patricia caught the Argentine tango bug when she saw the end of a tango class while waiting for a salsa class. A tango proposal and honeymoon in Buenos Aires turned her dance partnership with Bobbi Lusic into a life partnership, and tango into Patricia’s vocation. Since 2005, Patricia and Bobbi Lusic have shared the beauty of Salon Tango as instructors, performers, DJs, promoters and organizers of tango events. Heike Walker

The Alexander Technique teaches you to increase awarenessof posture and movement. It helps you to become aware of habitual movement patterns, to release excess muscle tension and find better posture and coordination. Learning the principles of the Alexander Technique teaches dancers a deeper presence and clarity in the body, and facilitates poise and ease of movement. Heike Walker is a Certified Teacher of the Alexander Technique. She has been interested in movement and dance since her early twenties which has led her to take the Alexander training in Berlin, Germany. Heike is also a Reflexology Therapist and a Bach Remedies Practitioner. Heike is the owner of Balance Arts Studio and offers individual sessions in Alexander Technique, Reflexology and Bach Remedies.
